IPSWICH Town turned on a magical second half performance to make it a winning end to Jim 'Magic' Magilton's seven-year Portman Road career.

Splendid goals from Nicky Forster in the 46th minute and Darren Currie in the 65th minute put an end to the Blues misery after going eight games without a victory.

It was a pretty dire opening period, and Derby should have been in the lead at the break.

But once Forster struck with a magnificent goal, the Rams lost there impetus and Ipswich ran out easy winners.

Magilton was given a great send-off by Town supporters although it was disappointing that he went off at half-time - and did not return with Jaime Peters taking his place.

But dressed in a suit and flanked by his two sons Adam and Ryan, Magilton came through a tunnel of Town players before leading the squad on a walk round the pitch five minutes after the end of the game.

He was cheered all around the ground.
