THERE was no change at the top of the Suffolk Premier League table as Leaders Woolpit saw off Felixstowe Corinthians with ease, while second-placed Woodbridge were impressive winners over Bourne Vale.

Rob Jones top-scored with 51 out of the Corinthians total of 143 for six, but Barry Aldous (60) and Tim Parker (66 not out) guided Woolpit to a nine-wicket success with 10 overs to spare.

Woodbridge were always in control at home to Bourne Vale, who were totally dependent on opener Marty Daniels. Daniels stood firm with 58, while the next four in the batting order all departed without scoring. Indeed, No. 10 Mal Jones was next-best with eight in a final total of 102.

Andy Oswald (five for 26) and Paul Ray (three for 11) did most of the damage.

Jim Vince, with 33, made sure Woodbridge reached their target with five wickets and more than 20 overs remaining.

There was a higher-scoring game at Worlingworth, where the home team's total of 214 for eight (Dave Courteen 69, Zac Rush 46, Eric Davy 45) was enough to beat Walsham by 33 runs. Steve Driver took five for 64.

In the Walsham reply the visitors struggled against Doug Ramsay (five for 54) until Chris Manning hit a late undefeated 46, sharing a good last-wicket partnership with Peter Knight (29).

Ian Crane's 51 provided the backbone to Eye's 158 for eight and Exning II were dismissed for 111 in reply, with N Turner scoring 50.

Bury III were sent packing for 88 (Jeff Lewis three for seven, Shaun Langford three for 20) and Stowupland chalked up a five-wicket win (Peter Whitefield 36).

Thurston made it 13 wins out of 13 in the Intermediate Division with another solid batting display against Elveden. This time it was N Wallis who gave them a good start with 62, and brothers Martin Wilkins (44 not out) and Richard Wilkins (32 not out) who finished things off in a total of 222 for four.

Elveden could only muster 133 in reply with J Smithers claiming four for 34.

Bury IV were more competitive than of late, but still lost by seven wickets to Stradbroke. Dave Simmons, with 72, pushed the Bury total up to 148 for nine but Dave Allum (44), Sam Oyitch (32) and Steve Warner (29 not out) carried Stradbroke to victory.

Martlesham conceded their match to Nowton to drop below Bury in the table.
