TENNIS: More than 150 youngsters took part in the 10th annual Ipswich Junior Parks tennis tournament.The qualifying rounds took place in Christchurch Park and the finals were held at the Ensors County Tennis Centre, Henley Road, Ipswich.

More than 150 youngsters took part in the 10th annual Ipswich Junior Parks tennis tournament.
The qualifying rounds took place in Christchurch Park and the finals were held at the Ensors County Tennis Centre, Henley Road, Ipswich.
For the first time, a special Fair Play award was presented by the Friends of Christchurch Park to Libby Makinson (U-16 Girls) who it was decided had shown the best attitude and greatest positive spirit throughout the week.
The award was presented by the chairman of the Friends of Christchurch Park, Reg Driver.
All games were played in a fun and friendly manner and the organisers would like to thank all players and parents for making the tournament a great success.
Plans for the 2003 tournament are already in place for July 28 to August 2, 2003.

Boys U10 Singles: Oliver Whiting
Boys U12 Singles: Mark Hemy
Boys U14 Singles: Darren Warner
Boys U16 Singles: Jacob Merrill
Boys U12 Doubles: D Clarke and H Taylor
Boys U14 Doubles: M Hemy and D Hemy

Girls U10 Singles: Sian Ryan
Girls U12 Singles: Annalise Ryan
Girls U14 Singles: Laura Jacobs
