Stowmarket recorded their seventh successive victory – the last six which have been in the league – and following this latest success the Suffolk side have moved up to fourth place in the Premier Division.

Stowmarket made the better start and Jopling had the first clear sight of goal after 22 minutes but he was unable to get enough power in his shot to trouble the visitors goal.

With the first half becoming more evenly contested the visitors Gilmore managed to take the ball around Nunn in the home goal but the Fakenham striker could not find the empty Stowmarket net.

With half-time looming the home side did break the deadlock when Jopling created the opening and Pannell sent his shot over Lewis and into the Fakenham goal.

Barker came close to doubling the home side's lead in the early stages of the half before Nunn preserved his side's one goal lead with a fingertip save in the 61st minute.

Three minutes later a Jopling knock down sparked a goalmouth scramble at the other end with the Yeoman's seeing a goalbound shot blocked before the danger was cleared.

Stowmarket kept pressing for a second which finally arrived in the 82nd minute when substitute Whatling got to the by-line and provided the perfect cross for Jopling to score with the trade mark close range finish for his 17th goal of the season which wrapped up the points for the hosts.
