Bawdsey-based heptathlete Katy Sealy won the Central American Championship title for Belize in Nicaragua last week.

The Ipswich Harrier finished on 4614 points, 253 points clear of Guatemala’s Ruth Morales Merida in second.

Sealy qualifies for Belize through her father and followed her success up with victories at the Southern Athletics League, in the javelin and long jump.

Next for Sealy are the Pan-Am Games in Canada, and August’s NACAC (North American, Central American and Caribbean Championships) in Costa Rica.
