Swans base success on family affair

SIL SOCCER: Westerfield United's success in the Suffolk Junior Cup was a real family affair. The Swans, who have also finished in a runners-up position in the First Division of the Metaltec SIL and will be promoted back to senior football if their facilities are passed, beat Framlingham Town 1-0 in the final.

WESTERFIELD United's success in the Suffolk Junior Cup was a real family affair.

The Swans, who have also finished in a runners-up position in the First Division of the Metaltec SIL and will be promoted back to senior football if their facilities are passed, beat Framlingham Town 1-0 in the final.

Goalscorer Lee Clements was joined in the side by his brother Sean and cousins Jamie Sandilands and Andy Reid.

Lee Clements has scored 16 goals season and as acting captain hoisted the Junior Cup aloft. His

brother Sean previously played for Whitton United, Haughley and BT.

Their mother Glennis is sister of Andy Reid's dad Ian. Andy's former club is Coplestonians and like Sean Clements he signed for Westerfield at the start of the season.

Sandilands father is former local player David and his mum Aileen. He has been at Westerfield for two seasons. Leading scorer for Sunday side Dales for two seasons his ambition is to play for AFC Sudbury. His brother Karl plays for Needham Market.
