AN Ipswich swimming club has launched an appeal after an official investigation upheld two complaints made against it by a former teenage member.

The 13-year-old girl reported Team Ipswich swimming club to the Amateur Swimming Association (ASA) after she claimed she had been unfairly left out of swim squads.

The girl, who was 12 at the time, also alleged her complaints had not been correctly dealt with by team bosses.

It is believed that the ASA probe, which took place earlier this year, found in her favour on both counts.

The Evening Star understands that a third allegation of bullying was not proven.

Bosses at the swimming club today revealed they were in the process of appealing against the decision, but could not comment further until the process had reached its conclusion.

A spokesman for the ASA was unavailable for comment.
