WOODBRIDGE & DMCC are hosts for a national triple-header at their popular Blaxhall circuit on Sunday.

A top-class entry of riders is contesting the penultimate round of the Yamaha-sponsored British Four Stroke Championship.

Former Under-21 champion Glenn Phillips leads the series and has been a revelation since switching to Four Stroke machinery this year.

Scot David Campbell is holding second place on 226 points with Folkestone's David Willet in third place with 149.

Current champion Craig Pratley is next with 134, followed by Londoner David Williams on 116, four points ahead of Sussex flyer Danny Smyth.

Also included in the strong line-up is three-times world champion, Dave Thorpe, who rides for fun nowadays but cannot be underestimated.

Rob Herring, a former British champion in three classes and now Britain's Moto Cross Des Nations team manager, has also entered and is currently in good form.

In the Ray Hockey-sponsored British Under-21 series, current champion Wayne Smith, from Cumbria, comes to Blaxhall in second place on 165 points – just eight behind Hereford youngster Ben Launders.

Smith was released from the previous round at Wakes Colne to contest the Czech Grand Prix and with just two rounds remaining will want to regain top spot.

Paul Latham is currently third on 115 points, with Phoneparts rider Alex Rach on 100.

Several top youngsters from the youth scene will be in action, including Graeme Gowland, Scot Bryan McKenzie and Great Yarmouth youngster Nathan Norman.

Notable absentee will be local ace Aston Bird who suffered bad leg injuries at the Wakes Colne round.

Essex youngster Richard Fitch is on the comeback trail after a long injury and will be aiming for a top-six place.

Most of the stars of Quad racing should add to the excitement of the nine-race programme.

Irishman Justin Reid, John Mitchell and Paul Winrow and Lindsey Duke will be battling for honours in the eighth round of the Yamaha/Zipwear National Championship.

Practice begins at 10am with the first of nine races starting at noon.

Admission for this national triple-header is £10 for adults, with reduced rates for senior citizens. Children with adults have free entry.

Blaxhall is situated just three miles north of Wickham Market and the circuit will be signposted from the A12.
