IN TONIGHT'S GREEN 'UN…

CREWE ALEXANDRA 1 IPSWICH TOWN 0

IPSWICH Town are still looking for their first league win of the season. A superb 69th minute free kick from Kenny Lunt gave Crewe victory at Gresty Road today.

Town's central defender Drissa Diallo made a costly foul that got him a booking. From the free-kick Lunt earned the three points for the Railwayman.

The home side were dominant in the first period and only a brilliant save by Ipswich keeper Kelvin Davies stopped them going ahead in the first period.

After the break a town side that reverted to 4-3-3 with two substitutions looked far more lively and they tested Clayton Ince on several occasions.

It was a much more attacking and adventurous town but they trouped off the field dejectedly with nothing to show for their efforts. The Blues are continuing to fire blanks and they will be hoping to put it right against Coventry next Saturday.

This defeat comes on top of last week's 1-1 draw with Reading at Portman Road.
