His partner, Sam Lincoln, went on to score 54 and Adam Dumesney weighed in with 47 in a total of 325 for six. Jason Emeny took five for 58 in six lively overs.

The visitors made a very good reply, but fell short in the end at 269 for nine, with Joe Hadingham and Gary Moon both scoring 76.

Bawdsey made an even bigger score - and recorded victory by a staggering 305 runs against Rosary Cavaliers. Adam Green (104) and Darren King (96 not out) smashed 161 from the last 15 overs as Bawdsey reached 350 for four, and Neil Flower picked up four for eight as Cavaliers were skittled for 45 in reply.

Adrian Stockton scored 146, supported by 57 from Alan Forster, as Brantham scored 274 for five at Melton, with St Audry's reaching 200 for eight in reply (Andy Southall 44 not out).

In Section A, Dheeraj Nayyar was again in good form for BT & Waldringfield. He cracked 98 from 71 balls in a total of 278 for seven, then took four for 49 to keep Kesgrave down to 254 for nine in reply. Mark Smith (65) and Stevie Worne (49) did not quite do enough for the home side.

Ipswich did not score enough runs as they were dismissed for 141 at Sudbourne Hall, with Mick Peck virtually winning the game on his own with an unbeaten 104 to lead the way to an eight-wicket win.

In Section B, Ryan Cresswell scored an unbeaten 56 to help Felixstowe to a 101-run win over Kesgrave II in Section C.
