THE United States will take on England in a friendly at Wembley on May 28.

Should David Beckham be omitted from Fabio Capello's squad for next week's France friendly, the USA match could see the Los Angeles Galaxy midfielder win his 100th cap against the country where he currently plays.

USA head coach Bob Bradley said: "We have consistently said that one of our goals is to play matches against good opponents and in environments that will really challenge our team.

"In addition to the quality of the English team, the tradition and passion for the sport in that country, the media focus, and the intensity of the fans all combine to make this a fantastic opportunity for our group.'

It will be only the USA's second trip to face England this side of the Atlantic, the first being in 1994.
