LAST season's winners West Suffolk progressed to the quarter finals of the competition after this fiercely fought contest at the Ipswich Town training ground on Monday.

The visitors had the best possible start in the 10th minute when Harewood's back pass fell slightly short and keeper Hall's clearance cannoned off Harrison to Evans who tapped the ball in an empty net.

West Suffolk went further ahead with a far post header from Smith who powered in Proctor's cross on 13 minutes.

Suffolk put some good moves together after the restart and pulled a goal back in the 57th minute. Harewood was fouled after a surging run on the left and George volleyed in the free kick from Baker but Harrison made the game safe for West Suffolk with a fierce low cross shot in the 65th minute.

Chances came at both ends with both sides making mistakes in the swirling wind but West Suffolk saw out time and they now entertain Park College from Sussex for a place in the semi final.
