WHITTON United's Under-16 girls team have completed a league and cup double.

Having claimed the Suffolk U16 Girls League title, the team also sealed the League Cup with an 8-3 victory over Bury Town at Walsham-le-Willows.

In a memorable season, the Ipswich-based side also represented Suffolk at the regional finals of the Tesco Cup which was held in Birmingham last month.

Despite winning three of their four games Whitton did not qualify for the final but gained valuable experience against some top sides.

The majority of the squad are now preparing to step up to Whitton United's ladies first team next season. Any players that will be eligible to play under-16 girls football next season that are interested in joining the club are invited to attend trials at the end of July on a date to be confirmed.
