RUGBY UNION: Hadleigh have made wholesale changes for their first home league fixture against Shelford and will be hoping for a win in front of new club sponsors Braceforth Properties.

HADLEIGH have made wholesale changes for their first home league fixture against Shelford and will be hoping for a win in front of new club sponsors Braceforth Properties.

Up front the selectors have kept faith with the front five which performed so well against Rochford, but in the back row the rotation system sees Roper in at blindside and Griffiths move to the bench.

A knee injury to Joseland has meant Lander, on the bench last week as front row sub, coming into number 8.

In the backs, where coach Kev Parker felt Hadleigh lacked a cutting edge, only Winter and Eady retain their original positions at wing and centre from last week.

At half back, Forster and Carson swap positions. Carson has played his best rugby for the club at scrum half and will be able to use his pace and elusive running while Forster will be able to use his considerable experience from ten to run the backline to better effect.

Crawley comes in at wing for Bengtson who drops to the seconds. Taylor (family holiday) and Bavadra (military duties) are unavailable so Aven and Booth return at outside centre and full back.

The Phantoms, who will also be entertaining new sponsors in the shape of Suffolk and Essex Supplies, take on Stowmarket and will be hoping to continue their winning run.

They show few changes from the side which so effectively demolished Harwich last week. The pack sees just one change in the back row where Bengston comes in to replace Kirk who is on the bench for the first XV.

Second XV captain Kerr and Crawley have also been promoted to the first XV so Miles will return at centre.
