WOODBRIDGE remain in trouble at the lower end of the premier division after a performance lacking in passion and spirit, allowed an under strength Yarmouth side to collect the points with some ease.

The Woodpeckers themselves were forced into changes but they gave home keeper Nick Banham an easy night.

A tedious first's opening goal in the 25th minute when Robert George was allowed to run through on goal and beat the advancing Glyn Dixon.

Yarmouth had been the better side in the first half whilst Woodbridge had never threatened and it took until the 56th minute before the visitors produced their first goalscoring opportunity, but Jamie Scales dragged his shot wide from a promising position.

Yarmouth soon retained the initiative and extended their lead in the 70th minute when Grant Pierpoint again took advantage of a static defence to supply an emphatic finish. Neil Calver briefly raised visiting supporters hopes with a free-kick that Banham had to tip over but it was the only time the home keeper was called into serious action and Lee Humphrey's 84th minute penalty merely rounded off a depressing evening for the Suffolk outfit.
