Beautiful: The Carole King Musical, Ipswich Regent

It’s still Musicals Month at The Regent, and the latest offering, finishing its run on Saturday, is a musical tribute to Carole King.
The show tells the inspiring true story of her rise to stardom, including her songwriting partnership with husband Gerry Goffin.
Classic songs included range from Take Good Care of My Baby to You’ve Got a Friend and It Might As Well Rain until September.

Families are welcome to go along and join in activities at Bucklesham Grange from 2pm today, as part of the national Care Home Open Day.
There will be an opportunity to take part in an Oomph Wellness exercise session, as well as enjoying a barbecue.
Youngsters will also be able to have fun on bouncy castles.

Boots2Africa Boot Donation Event, The Venue, Ipswich Town FC

Do you have any unwanted football boots or kit? If so, you can use them to help charity.
Boots2Africa is holding its fourth donation event at the Blues home match against Aston Villa, and will accept donations from 1pm to 5pm.
The charity collects, transports and distributes boots to children and young adults in Africa.

Trianon Music Group Concert, St John the Baptist Church, Cauldwell Hall Road, Ipswich

“Musical Visitors” is the theme for the latest Trianon concert, conducted by Professor Chris Green.
It will include music from composers Charles Villiers Stanford, Anton Dvorak and Charles Gounod.
The soloists are soprano Julie Roberts, tenor Paul Bloomfield and baritone Tim Gillott.

Tea Dance, Royal Hospital School, Holbrook

Take your partners to a tea dance! The school is hosting the fourth East of England Organ Day, including a community tea dance.
From 2.30pm to 4pm, the dance will take place on the floor of the school’s cathedral-proportioned chapel, accompanied by the Grand Organ.
Music will range from classic waltzes and foxtrots to the tango, cha-cha-cha, jive and samba, all played on one of the country’s largest pipe organs.

Fancy a theatrical performance with a difference? If so, you are likely to enjoy this selection of short plays.
The INK Festival, originally staged at the New Cut in Halesworth, is currently on the road, with a performance in Ipswich at 3pm on Sunday.
The show includes a special collaboration by East Anglian writers Richard Curtis, Esther Freud, Blake Morrison, Libby Purves and Steve Waters.
