It’ll be BAFTA winning investigative journalist Ross Kemp’s turn to be quizzed when he opens Go Outdoors Ipswich superstore next month.

The author and actor, famous for playing hard man Grant Mitchell in EastEnders, will be at the Anglian Retail Park shop from 9am. He’ll cut the ceremonial ribbon before welcoming customers and taking part in a question and answer session.

Kemp, now known for his Extreme World documentaries, said he was honoured to be part of the opening on June 10 and looked forward to meeting people.

“For me, encouraging the public to get outdoors is really important. There is a big world out there with endless adventures to be had, a little encouragement and the right kit is all you need to explore. GO Outdoors has equipped me on many of my own adventures, of which I’ll share some stories at the launch,” he added.

A day of family fun festivities and adventure has been planned including face-painting, balloon modelling and a bouncy castle.

There will be competitions throughout the day with prizes including a Vango family tent, a Calibre bike, a Weird Fish family clothing bundle and a camping cooker. The first 200 families through the doors will receive a £20 gift voucher.
