The most impressive tweet of the day was by Twitter user James Cooper who revealed his 79-year-old dad had done the Great East Run in a wheel chair.

What makes this even more remarkable is the fact James’ Dad, David, also has Motor Neurones Disease.

Twitter user Paul Deacon took to Twitter to congratulate Callum on completing his first ever half marathon.

Callum, who was fund raising for MIND, can be seen holding his medal proudly.

Dave Shaw shared sweet pictures of him and his family on their way to the highly anticipated race.

Excitement is kicking in with big smiles all round.
