A 24-year-old man who has been charged with attempted rape after a girl was sexually assaulted in Ipswich has been remanded in custody.
A teenage girl was pulled to the ground by a man as she walked along the river near Tower Mill Road in Ipswich at about 11.40pm on Thursday, December 8.
The man was then disturbed by a member of public and fled towards Riverside Road and Sproughton Road, Suffolk police said.
Adiley Pires, of Kensington Road in Ipswich, was arrested in connection with the incident and appeared before Suffolk Magistrates' Court on Saturday.
He has been charged with attempted rape, sexual assault and common assault in relation to an incident on December 8, as well as attempted rape and sexual assault in connection with an incident on October 17 last year.
Pires has been remanded in custody ahead of his next appearance at Ipswich Crown Court on January 16.
