A gang of Nottingham Knockers is reportedly visiting homes across Ipswich.

Earlier this week, Suffolk Trading Standards warned that a group of the rogue traders "may be staying" in Suffolk's county town.

This lead the local government authority to the belief that they "intend to target householders across the town over the coming days".

Last week, so-called Nottingham Knockers were reported in Brantham, south of Ipswich on the Shotley peninsula, and were allegedly "aggressive" toward one resident.

Nottingham Knockers are individuals claiming to have been in prison and on a youth offending scheme, attempting to mend their ways.

They will try and sell everyday products to homeowners at very high prices.

They often work in organised groups and many do not possess Pedlar's Certificates, which are issued by police.

Further reports of Nottingham Knockers were also made in Stowmarket earlier this year.

Anyone who believes they have been visited by Nottingham Knockers is urged to contact Citizens Advice Consumer Service.
