Police are continuing their enquiries into an incident which saw three teenage girls sexually assaulted in an Ipswich park.

According to Suffolk police, the girls were assaulted by four teenage boys in Christchurch Park between 4.45pm and 4.15pm on Tuesday, April 4.

The assault followed an incident in in February which saw a teenage girl sexually assaulted in an alleyway between St Stephen's Church Lane and Upper Brook Street in the town centre.

In December, another Ipswich teenage girl was sexually assaulted on the same night as a Reclaim the Night protest.

Speaking after the incident in April, Issy Booth of Suffolk Rape Crisis said: "It’s important that all members of our community, including teenage girls, are safe to spend time in our public spaces without fear of male violence.

"Women deserve to take up space in our community.

"We would encourage any woman who has experienced sexual violence to seek support and look after their wellbeing.

"You can contact us here or reach out to our Helpline (open Tuesday evenings from 7-9pm) on 0800 0850 520."
