All aboard! Britain's poshest train is set to return to Ipswich for two luxury trips next year.

The Northern Belle has made several trips to Suffolk during 2023, with passengers enjoying the opportunity to dine in style in one of the 1930s-style Pullman-style carriages.

Just last weekend, passengers from Norwich and Ipswich travelled around the East Anglian countryside and indulged in a seven-course Christmas meal while sipping on champagne.

Now it has been announced that the train will be returning to Ipswich station in June 2024 on a trip that will take passengers to their choice of Hardwick Hall or Chatsworth House on Thursday, June 6.

The Northern Belle will leave Norwich Station at 7.15am and collect passengers from Ipswich Station at 8.15am.

Those on board will be served a three-course brunch in their carriage - named after British stately homes and castles - as they head towards Chesterfield Station, a journey estimated to take just over four hours.

Coaches will take the passengers to their choice of stately home for the afternoon before they head back to the train for a 5.15pm departure.

On the three-and-a-half-hour journey back to Ipswich Station, diners will enjoy a champagne reception with canapes and caviar.

This will be followed by a sumptuous six-course dinner, including a cheeseboard, dessert and a selection of petit fours.
