After closing down in September, the site of the former Yates pub near Ipswich town centre is back on the market.

The pub first opened in 1997 but closed after the lease expired, leaving the building empty.

We asked our readers for their thoughts – so here are five things you want to see take over the former Yates pub building in Tower Street.

Nightclub

The most popular request was to see the building become a nightclub.

There were different varieties of nightclubs wanted, such as a speakeasy-style club with a 60s style dress code.

One commenter wanted a club that just plays music from the 1970s and 80s.

Roller disco

If a nightclub is not what you fancy, then perhaps a roller disco would be better?

Imagine a roller rink downstairs with bright coloured lights and loud disco music where you can bust out all your best moves whilst trying to keep your balance.

Indoor mini golf

Get competitive against your friends and family by challenging them to a round of mini golf no matter what the weather is.

Currently, the only option for indoor mini golf in Ipswich is at Boom Battle Bar in the Buttermarket.

Indoor market

A space that could be used by everyone is an indoor market.

Filled with stalls selling artwork, handcrafted items, or even food and drink, it would also be a good place when searching for gifts during the festive season.

Pub

The building is already set up as a pub or bar area, so why not keep it the same?

You could go there for lunch as a break from a shopping spree in the town centre, or make it one of the places you go to on a pub crawl through Ipswich.
