An American Candy store in Ipswich is set to have its bid for an alcohol licence discussed next week.
American Candy Corner, located at 1 Dogs Head Street in Ipswich, looks set to be granted an alcohol licence by Ipswich Borough Council providing it agrees to meet certain conditions.
In January, the shop sent an application which would allow them to sell alcohol from 8am to 11pm every day.
Conditions will be put in place along with the grant of the licence, including CCTV to be installed and a challenge 25 policy must be put in place.
Notices will need to be displayed throughout the premises highlighting the Challenge 25 policy, and all staff members must be trained in the running of the policy.
Sales of alcohol are also not to include any super-strength lagers, beers or ciders which exceed 6.5% ABV (alcohol by volume).
The shop must also provide police with relevant CCTV footage, incident logs and a register of refusals immediately upon request.
The premises previously had an alcohol licence, before the shop was taken over under new ownership and turned into an American Candy shop.
