In the last 10 weeks there have been six knife attacks across Suffolk, with the latest victim sustaining two injuries in two separate attacks just hours apart.

On June 2, 17-year-old Tavis Spencer Aitkens was fatally stabbed in Packard Avenue in Ipswich.

He was taken to Ipswich Hospital for treatment where he later died.

The teenager had been walking back from Queen’s Way shops when the alleged attack happened.

A total of nine people have been arrested by Suffolk police and questioned in connection with the killing.

Three men and a teenage boy have all been charged with murder and remain in custody ahead of a provisional trial date set for November.

Two men have been released on bail for a second time following their arrests on suspicion of conspiracy to murder

A 41-year-old man, questioned on suspicion of conspiracy to murder, and a 36-year-old woman, arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender, face no further action.

A 17-year-old boy, arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder, also faces no further action.

Just nine days later a 20-year-old man was stabbed more than 10 times in his home in Pauline Street in Ipswich.

No arrests have currently been made.

On June 13, a 16-year-old boy was stabbed at the Ravenswood Mcdonald's in Ipswich.

Rishawn Mohammed, 18, of Hurricane Place, Ipswich, was charged with wounding with intent and threatening a person with a bladed article in connection with the incident outside the fast food restaurant in Ravenswood Avenue.

A 17-year-old boy from Ipswich was charged with possession of a bladed article and possession of cannabis in connection with the same incident.

Elsewhere in the county, a man in his 30s was stabbed near Haverhill Rugby Club on June 23.

On July 7, 28-year-old Scott Tarrant suffered serious injuries at an address in Underwood Close, Lowestoft, and later died from his injuries after been taken to the James Paget Hospital for treatment.

Steven Butcher, 23, of Ashfield Crescent, Lowestoft, was charged with murder and will stand trial at Ipswich Crown Court in January.
