An Ipswich rapper is on the bill to perform at this year's BBC Radio 1 Big Weekend festival in Dundee.

Piers James will take to the BBC Introducing Stage on Sunday, May 28.

In a post on Instagram, Mr James said: "I am very proud that I'll be performing at the Big Weekend in Dundee.

"Big Love BBC Introducing and Radio 1 squad for having me."

The rapper, who now lives in London, is no stranger to success, having his single 'Showbiz' featuring on the video game, FIFA 23, just one of 100 songs to be chosen by EA Sports.

Speaking in November to the Ipswich Star, Mr James said: "I've worked so hard from just being a boy from Ipswich and really pushing myself and pushing myself to my limits, and time and time again being told you're not good enough.

"It's nice to know there are still wins out there, and there's still more to accomplish."

Mr James was also chosen as one of Ed Sheeran's support acts for his 2019 Chantry Park shows.
