A huge pothole that was so deep you can stick your foot down it has been repaired after it was discovered in an Ipswich car park this week.
The gaping hole was found by the fence in the Ipswich Borough Council car park in Portman Road, behind the AXA building.
The hole was about 30cm deep and had been covered by a cone to prevent drivers from going over it.
Responding to a comment about the hole on Twitter on Friday morning, Ipswich Borough Council said the issue would be "repaired as part of ongoing repairs at the car park".
A spokesman for Ipswich Borough Council later confirmed: "Works to repair this pothole have now been completed, with further maintenance works to the car park continuing next week."
The discovery of the car park pothole comes as Suffolk Highways confirmed Norman Crescent, a residential street off Nacton Road in Ipswich, would be closed throughout the day on Monday to repair defects in the road.
